Chris Froome 


Chris Froome  is a professional  cyclist from Kenya and current member of the Team Sky, of category UCI ProTeam. Chris Froome is considered “the quiet man”.
Christopher Froome was born in May 1985. He was born in Nairobi Kenya. The parents of Chris Froome are Clive Froome and Jane Flatt were British.

Chris learned from childhood to ride a bicycle in the mountain of Kenya when he was 7 years old. At the age of 12, Chris got involved in cycling through Kenyan cyclist David Kinjah. He started riding on an iron bike that his brother gave him.Aged 14, Chris moved to one of South Africa’s top boarding schools. When Chris was 15, he went to live by himself  to Johannesburg South Africa where he started to practice cycling.

He studied economy in the school Saint John from Johannesburg, but the decided to devote himself to cycling.

In 2006, he represented Kenya at the 2006 road world championship in Salzburg, Austria.
He represented Kenya in 2006 and 2007 in the world championships sub-23. In 2007 He moved to Europe, joining team Barloworld.




Aged 22 he turned pro racing in South Africa racing for the Team Konica Minolta.
In 2007 He went to live in Italy because his girlfriend lived in Milan, In very little time He finish your courtship and He decided to dedicate himself to cycling completely.

In 2008, he signed for Team Barloworld with the help of Robbie Hunter. In only his second season as a pro, he rode the 2008 Tour de France. In May, 2008 he adopted British nationality.

The mother of Chris died of cancer in 2008 It has been the saddest moment in the life of Chris Froome. After winning his first tour, Froome also said his mother was a big inspiration for encouraging his cycling both as a youngster and when he decided to turn pro.

His first season 2010 was a mixture of results. For considerable periods he suffered from the effects of the parasitic disease, bilharzia. He finished 2nd in the 2010 British time trial championship, 1.20 behind Bradley Wiggins. Representing England, he finished 5th in the Commonwealth Games time trial. In 2010, he moved to Team Sky and has become one of the team's key cyclists.

The biggest breakthrough of the season was the diagnosis and treatment of his bilharzia disease. This left him unable to ride at the start of the 2011 season (because treatment is quite harsh). But, once recovered he was able to display his top form, un-bothered by periods of illness. During 2011 he finished second in general of the vuelta  to spain.

In the 2012 Olympics, Froome rode to bronze medal in the time trial and was part of the road team which tried to set up Mark Caven. In 2013, Froome was designated as team leader for Sky.dish.

He got married with Michelle Cound in 2014.



Chris has maintained contact with his early Kenya roots and often sends back spare kit to young Kenyan riders.

Chris Froome is an example of overcoming, as he died in the mother of his mother in 2008, his illness in 2011 and his place of origin, his past ahead in what he likes and achieved, becoming one of the two best Cyclists of the world

  1. Your conclusion is not exactly a conclusion, it looks more like a summary of his achievements. A conclusion could be: Froome is an example of sport man since he is a disciplined person and, in spite of his sickness, he overcame that situation and continued working hard to be the best.

    Last line: "We when (knowing) KNEW the biography of Chris Froome we can" this is an incomplete idea!
